Jumla Believers English School

Jumla Believers English School, located at Chandannath Municipality–6, Vijayanagar, Jumla, Nepal, was established in 2010 AD with the vision of providing quality English-medium education while fostering the intellectual, moral, social, and personal development of every student. Since its inception, the school has been committed to creating a nurturing learning environment where children are inspired to achieve academic excellence, develop strong character, and become responsible members of society.

During its early years, the school operated under the direct care and support of the Diocese. As a newly established institution in one of Nepal's remote Himalayan districts, it encountered numerous operational and financial challenges. At the time of its establishment, the school enrolled only 35 students and was supported by a dedicated team of five teachers, offering classes from Playgroup to Grade 5. Limited financial resources made it difficult to generate sufficient income for daily operations, including the timely payment of teachers' salaries. In addition, the school faced challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited educational resources, scarcity of safe drinking water, and various geographical and social obstacles that naturally accompany serving a remote community.

Despite these challenges, the unwavering dedication of the school administration, teachers, parents, church leadership, donors, volunteers, and well-wishers enabled the institution to continue growing year after year. Through careful planning, responsible management, and the continuous support of its stakeholders, the school has steadily strengthened its academic programs, expanded its facilities, and enhanced the overall quality of education it provides.

Today, Jumla Believers English School serves approximately 350 students and currently offers education from Playgroup to Grade 6, with plans to gradually expand to Grade 8 in the coming years. While the school continues to work toward greater financial sustainability, it remains committed to maintaining stable operations, ensuring the timely payment of staff salaries, and pursuing steady institutional growth through careful financial management and long-term planning.

The school's infrastructure has also continued to improve. Construction of additional school buildings is currently underway, and further educational facilities and learning resources are planned as part of the institution's ongoing development. These improvements reflect the school's commitment to providing students with a safe, comfortable, and modern learning environment that supports both academic achievement and personal growth.

Recognizing that education extends beyond the classroom, Jumla Believers English School places strong emphasis on the holistic development of every child. Every Friday, students participate in a variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities, including sports, quiz competitions, cultural performances, dance programs, leadership activities, creative arts, and values-based learning experiences. These programs help develop confidence, teamwork, creativity, communication skills, leadership qualities, and social responsibility while encouraging students to discover and nurture their individual talents.

The school's continued growth and progress stand as a testament to the collective efforts of many individuals and organizations.
